Publisher's description of Rubies of Eventide

From Mnemosyne:

Rubies of Eventide is a promising example of change in the MMORPG industry. As a second generation massively-multiplayer game, Rubies defies the "Everquest" template by bringing back the classic strategic RPG turn-based combat, with a twist. Rubies unique combat mode is an asynchronous real-time turn-based hybrid combat. For players this means planning moves strategically with more attention to tactical rather than split-second decisions.

"Greatest MMORPG yet, better than WoW yet less addicting"

    by Stinger15 on July 8, 2006

Pros: I had a friend from across the country come to my house and he brought over a disc with the instal of this game. I wasn't too interested in it, but when I started playing this, it was so much fun and the players on this game are extremely nice (well, the server I was in).

This game has so many classes to choose from, I'm glad my friend chose for me or else I would spend hours reading up on all the classes.

The game is addicting, but it is not as addicting as WoW: you won't lose any friends from it (not a guarentee, there's always those ones who will).

Some people say they get disconnected right when they enter the server, this is thier computer and/or connection to the internet. If you have a deccent computer with a good connection, this will not happen to you.

I would recommend this for any MMORPG players AND beginning RPG players. This really would help a beginner RPG player.

Cons: Zone loading is kind of irritating, ESPECIALLY when you have less 512 MB RAM. Not 56k friendly (or not at all). Servers do close down every once in a while for maintanaince (and just because it wasn't very well created), but after about 5 minutes, you should be able to get in.

    "An Excellent MMORPG!"

by Murxidon on June 11, 2005

Pros: Rubies Of Eventide has a large, expansive world, a friendly community and gm's, a great tutorial to get you started, over 100 classes, 5 races, and so much more!

Yes, over 100 classes! I couldn't decide which one to go, but finally becamse a neromancer, (you mean you can summon the dead on this game?!) I also noticed a few other classes, that where interesting, which brings me to the question, Can you really mine, smith, summon, build, use all these weapons, use all these spells, join a party, have clans, etc. etc.! for heavens sake you can even build a camping spot?!

I love this game, there is no lag whatsoever, the community are so friendly, as soon as I left the tutorial guild, (what, there's even guilds?!) I was greeted by a friendly player, who taught me the basics of the superb game! The interface is easy to understand, the combat system doesn't leave you confused, if you choose to donate you also get access to a few more servers, I really do love this game, so download Rubies Of Eventide, NOW!

    Cons: Absolutely none!!!! SERIOUSLY!

"Does Not Get Any Better Than This! :)"

by earnjrfan on December 6, 2005

Pros: Awesome Game! Meet new friends. Join teams, & Guilds. Tons of skills to learn. Great Game play! With a party of friends you can acheive awesome skill points! Very addictive! After getting it, I cuoldn't stop playing. I could see myself playing this game for the next 5 years or more. So much to do. So many goals. So many classes & monsters. Lots of quests. If you like Final Fantasy Games, you'll love this one. Better graphics, (scenery, characters, creatures) There are so many Pros on this game, it's too many to list! So get it if your not busy for the next 5 years! :)

Cons: It took a about 1/2 an hour to download (with DSL & Download Accelerator)

It will take from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to switch into another section on the map(Zoning), & may freeze up on you, & crash the game. So fix it by going into the options, & uncheck the Zone option, & it tales 15 seconds, & will never crash again:)

It also takes a long time to level up. Because there are so many different things to choose to level, you may get lost & waste your points if your not focusing on a certain thing.

There are 3 servers without Donating. If they all say offline, it may take a few minutes or more to connect.

CAREFUL, there is one server(the Halbard I think) If you start to play that one, people can just kill you on the spot! While other servers require a pop up message that someone is asking you to challange them to a fight. This is really bad for a noobie. A high level person can wipe you out just for points. I don't like that part. Your not familiar with the game, your out there trying to figure it out, & bam your dead, & gotta start from the temple again.

    "Not Bad"

by ckon on August 9, 2005

Pros: the game has alot of meat to it, i mean alot of classes, you can craft armour, weapos, etc or be a linguist, necromancer, summoner/ Definetly worth playing.

Cons: The graphics are kind of cheesy for todays standards, and when you attack something you have to click on it to hit but your character is in the way, you can switch to first person view but you cant look up or down so when you fight something small like a goblin you cant really see it in first person view or third very well.

The game seems to take up alot of ram i have 512 MB and the game pushes me down to as low as 9 MB! while i play.
