Version: Intego VirusBarrier X5 10.5
Pros: I installed it, hit system-level hangups, and uninstalled it immediately, before finding positive features.
Cons: When I installed it, I had two major failures at the system level, so I immediately uninstalled it. However, it only fixed one; I'll be reinstalling my OS (10.4.11) and hoping it fixes the other. The two failures:
1) No longer would both of my FireWire daisy-chained Western Digital external hard drives appear on my desktop, only one or the other. Uninstalling VirusBarrier fixed that.
2) Photoshop CS3 crashes every time I work on an image file and try to save it, losing all the work. And Bridge CS3 can crash when I try to find a folder to browse for images. Reinstalling PS and Bridge twice after uninstalling VirusBarrier leaves them still routinely crashing. This has stopped my workflow cold. I will reinstall my OS and pray that returns my Photoshop functionality.
I am now fighting Intego to cancel my payment. Even though they have a 30-day trial period, because I (too trusting of rave reviews) bought it outright, they say I must pay for it despite the system damage because it is "used." The last thing they need to worry about is that I would use it without paying for it. Obviously I will never put any Intego product on my computer again.

"new version not working on Tiger for me"
Cons: daily hard freezes and freezes with schedules scans. Whole system not working well, multiple freezes since installing this program. Also superduper does not work unless you disable the virus software

Version: Intego VirusBarrier X5 10.5
Pros: The software has a great layout and is a hell of a lot faster than other anti-virus scanners I've used.
Cons: In the free trial the ability to download specific updates, especially new definitions expires almost immediately. The ability to get definitions should last for most of the trial.

Version: Intego VirusBarrier X5 10.5
Pros: I bought this application on recommendation and was not disappointed. It is very easy to install and use, has an attractive interface and provides excellent virus protection. Intego provide you with free software and virus definition updates for 12 months, making sure you're always protected from the latest viruses. It scans files in the background while you work and doesn't slow down other activities. I'd recommend it to everyone.
Cons: Price could be lower...
