- "SyncBack backs up all"
This straightforward backup utility makes it a snap to safeguard and synchronize your files, and its freeware price just sweetens the deal. Surprisingly flexible for a free program, SyncBack can save your files anywhere: on external hard drives, in ZIP archives, on network drives, on CDs (using UDF), or transfer them via FTP. Recovering from a drive loss is also cinch, with a convenient restore tool that replicates folder trees along with the files in them.
It lets you define multiple scheduled backup jobs so you can just set 'em and forget 'em, allowing users to create specific backup jobs for certain folders or file types. You can control the way files are compared and selected for backup: the program comes with ready-made profiles to make the process as easy as possible. It's hard not to like that SyncBack doesn't use many system resources when working in the background, and backups can be set to export their logs to an HTML file for easy viewing. All in all, it's an excellent choice for home users and small businesses.

Version: SyncBack 3.2.18.0
"A very solid and flexible software."
Pros: Small footprint, quick setup, a wealth of options for source and destination of backups, runs faithfully in the background, performs 'previews' of backups so that you can see if it's working as expected.
Cons: User interface could be daunting for new users - it's great for me but a new user might need some extra assistance to get started.

Version: SyncBack 3.2.18.0
Pros: Makes it easy to synchronize or backup specific folders or groups of folders. Allows the user to specify whether to overwrite based on size, date, etc., or whether to delete files that no longer exist on the source or vice-versa... basically tailor it exactly to your needs.
Cons: Not exactly a con, but some of the options provided, though useful, can be very dangerous if not used carefully. For example, the option to delete files that are no longer in the source/destination: renaming a directory could result in it being deleted, that sort of thing.

Version: SyncBack 3.2.18.0
"Free version does not backup selected sub-directories"
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The free version doesn't allow backup of selected sub-directories in a folder. It will backup all sub-directories or none. This makes the program far too limited for my needs. Also, the help file recommends checking for the latest version of the software by selecting the Help | About menu option. However, the Help menu does not include an About option. Instead, Help opens the help file immediately and no popup having an "About" option appears. Too limited, poor documentation.

Version: SyncBack 3.2.18.0
Pros: Wakes up, does the job, goes away, AND tells you if somethings wrong. None of these hang-around processes using up memory. Free and reliable. Dumped mozy home(because of the process usage), and I'm glad I did.
Cons: It's free and works. Nothing to complain about at all.
