excellent...and its free
Pros: leading file restoration softwares are all very expensive. this one is free and faster than the paid ones. instead of scanning everything at one go it politely asks you if you want vacant clusters to b scanned, and if you've already found your file you can say no and thus save a lot of time. no adware, malware, spyware either...the bottomline - it does its job!
Cons: recovered files are not always readable, this is true esp of data files. media files - audio and video are usually undamaged...but dll, bak, dat files were damaged and couldn't be read or restored.
there's a reason to .dll or.dat files not being readable
you cannot read .dll or .dat files because you had joined together clusters to recreate the file (most probably). in the list which appears first time (do not click on the check boxes "include used clusters by other files" or "include even if file size is zer") all the files are completely restorable - infact, DAT files do work !!!

how come when i try to scan my local disk ''c'' a error pop up says
