Quinn is an implementation of the well-known game Tetris for Mac OS X. This is the pure Tetris, not another variation of the original rules. Instead of reinventing the game with modified rules, I focused on a smooth look and feel and a clean integration with Mac OS X (Quinn is written entirely in Cocoa). Still there s everything you expect from a Tetris game: a highscore list, changeable keys, and a defineable amount of 'garbage' rows on startup. Version 3.5.1 fixes a problem with the date display in the highscore list as well as various other bug fixes.

Quinn is tough to beat when it comes to Tetris clones for the Mac. Designed from the ground up in Cocoa, Quinn lets you bask in the glory of the original game while complimenting the Mac's look and feel. You can play alone or a split-screen two player version using both sides of the keyboard. You can also compete with other players' high scores online, but you'll need to register to get access. We like the ability to customize the tiles to different color sets, but felt that a few more customization options might have been better--even though the aim was to follow the original. Tetris addicts will notice that you can't enter a final move when using the quick-drop key to slide tiles in to covered areas, but you'll still be able to make that quick move if you let the tile come down on its own. Overall we found Quinn to be enjoyable as a stylish Cocoa remake of the original. If you're a Tetris fan and want to play a version that fits your Mac GUI perfectly, grab this game.

"Love it!!1"

Pros: I have tried a few third party versions of Tetris. Everyone has some different gimmicks. I like this game a lot-it is fun; It is colorful; I like the sounds; it is quick pace.

Cons: The scoring is kind of weird. I used one name, my user name. Then I guess I changed to my real name and put in a password, then it didn't recognize my password. I would be fun to compete with others on the web like some games do, and I didn't see that that was possible.
