Publisher's description of QuickTime Lite for VCP

The Vista Codec Package will no longer include any QuickTime components. The Vista Codec Package is fully capable of MOV and 3GP playback without any QuickTime software installed. The QuickTime Lite for VCP was designed to use the original MSI installer from Apple to install a 'lite' version of QuickTime which will provide full browser support for viewing and download quicktime MOV files.

It installs a single shortcut to the VistaCodecs32Bit Tools directory. It does not install the Player, Image Viewer or Java components which are part of a full QuickTime installation. This release will obsolete any other QuickTime Alternative or Lite releases. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
