From NCH Software:This sound editing software is a full featured professional audio editor for Windows. It lets you make and edit music, voice and other audio recordings. When editing audio files you can cut, copy and paste parts of recordings and, if required, add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction. WavePad works as a WAV editor or MP3 editor but it also supports a number of other file formats including VOX, GSM, RA, AU, AIF, FLAC, OGG.
Version 3.11 is a bug fixing release.

In spite of its tiny size, WavePad packs a big audio punch.
The app furnishes plenty of tools for recording and editing sound. WavePad's interface is fairly well-organized, and the Command Bar feature provides quick access to the most frequently used functions. WavePad supports a variety of popular audio formats, including MP3, OGG, WAV, and WMA, and it includes a ripping function.
Once you open a file or begin recording via your sound card, you'll see a large rendering of the waveform, and you can choose to apply edits to the entire track or only certain parts. The application lets you open several files at once and move sound fragments among them, and the inclusion of a batch-conversion utility is a nice touch. WavePad offers a decent number of basic effects, such as noise reduction, normalizing, fading, amplification, echo, changing speed and pitch, and reverb, and you can preview any edits before saving. There are also text-to-speech and speech recognition functions, impressive for a free app.
All told, this utility's many capabilities and lack of restrictions make it a fine pick for all but the most advanced, hard-core audio junkies.

Version: WavePad 3.11
"Terrible company. Almost impossible to register."
Pros: Nice software but not worth the extreme aggravation of draconian registration process. Worst registration process I've ever seen. Customer support will not help you unless you pay them. Very anti-customer attitude! Stay away!
Cons: Almost impossible to register. Uncaring support staff will not help you. This is the worst registration process I've ever seen. This company has a bad Anti-customer attitude. Not worth the severe aggrivation that you will go through.
Summary: Registration process is draconian - almost impossible. Vendor will not assist you unless you pay them for Service Support ($33.00) This vendor has the worst anti-customer attitude I've ever seen. You will regret ever buying this product!

Version: WavePad 3.11
Cons: Surprise! This is only a trial version. Since there was no advance notice that this was a trail version, I wasn't worried about evaluating it within a limited time frame. Since finding the trial expired, I have attempted to remove all components from my system but am finding that task my be easier said than done. (For example desktop icons are still present despite several attempts to remove.)

Pros: The software is great but why is listed as free? People with no monetary resources get misleading to this file that is a trial and some key function get disable after 14 days of use, in my book this is a SHAREWARE guys.
