Publisher's description of PrivacyGuard
From MacroSoft: There are plenty of reasons you might want to use privacy software to cover your tracks. However, there are two major problems with most privacy software out there: Problem Number One: They delete important things like cookies that have passwords. Problem Number Two: After you run them, it is obvious that you have been trying to hide something, because suddenly everything is erased. The biggest indicator of this is when someone clicks on the drop-down Typed URL list in Internet Explorer, and suddenly there are no more Typed URLs. This software fixes those problems by giving you total control over what is erased from your computer. You can choose to keep certain cookies, and keep certain Typed URLs. You can even populate the Recent Document Menu with innocent files, and fill Media Players history list with fake names. Also compatible with over 150 Plugins for cleaning every program imaginable.- See more CNET content tagged:

Editor's review of PrivacyGuard
The primary flaw of this impressive tracks cleaner is its Internet Explorer-only coverage. PrivacyGuard clears your Internet Explorer cookies, URLs, temporary Internet and Windows files, history, and Recycle Bin, going one better by letting you determine what stays. Green all over, PrivacyGuard's interface features a setup wizard that guides you effortlessly through disguising cleanups. We were able to determine which URLs and cookies would remain, and we even picked innocent files to be shown in the recent documents list after cleanup.
If you don't feel like selecting files, PrivacyGuard lets you create fake files, adding a dummy extension for you to add to the mystique. It even features default names to throw off busybodies. You'll be able to enlist its super cover-up capabilities when clearing any one of the plug-ins on the ample list provided, and you can download others as well. Guarded by password protection and encryption of its own registry entries, this application is a dream. We just wish it covered other popular browsers such as Firefox and Opera. Still, this program is fabulous, free, and leaves the others green with envy.
