Instead of second guessing and digging through hundreds of shopping sites and comparison options, Pricepirates pulls in eBay bid prices and compares them against shopping comparison sites, Amazon Marketplace for a more complete picture of your shopping options. This free price comparison tool searches thousands of online stores in the US, the UK and Germany and eBay for product prices and 10 other countries.

Auctions of interest can be observed in a separate watchlist. If the user wishes to, he can even set the program to send an SMS as a reminder when the auctions is about to end. An integrated statistics function allows a detailed analysis of price developments for single products in online auctions. Its unique, intuitive user interface gets even first-time users started instantly. Version 3.0.0.9 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Greatly improve your eBay shopping experience with this set of helper functions. Pricepirates' multiwindowed, multitabbed interface may scare off some novice users, but operating this program is less complex than the crowded interface first implies. Expect some extra time installing this program. At first launch this application requires an automatic software update to version 4.3. Users who are blocking certain advertising Web sites will find this program removes any HOSTS redirects for mediaplex.com. We found that URL redirects through qksrv.net failed for some testers.

Pricepirates compares items for sale on eBay with exact or similar items at other sites. Operating this application is a breeze, but the interface is very crowded. Some users may feel they're lost in the information. However, there are so many shopping features included that there is sure to be a function you'll find useful. Quick searches through eBay, Amazon, and other installed marketplaces is the cornerstone of this application. Enter a search term and almost immediately your window is filled with links to eBay auctions and Amazon pages. Extensive information for each link is displayed in a spreadsheet-like window. One-click column sorting is instantaneous. You can easily create an auction watch list with e-mail or text message reminders. Comparison of products from the various sites is helpfully displayed in one tabbed window.

While we didn't like the URL redirects this application uses, there are more than enough helpful features in Pricepirates to make it worthwhile. As freeware, there really isn't any reason eBay buyers shouldn't give this a test.
