Publisher's description of PrcView
From CTI:PrcView is a process viewer utility that displays detailed information about processes running under Windows. For each process it displays memory, threads and module usage. For each DLL it shows full path and version information. PrcView comes with a command line version that allows you to write scripts to check if a process is running, kill it, etc.
Version 5.0 adds improved GUI and usability, CPU and memory consumption for selected processes, system entries that are automatically executed at the start-up, and process-monitoring functionality.Editor's review of PrcView

For those who use Task Manager, this free utility offers a much improved tool set. PrcViewer's spreadsheet-like interface offers few bells and whistles, but a great deal in the way functionality. The executable is started from an USB toolkit or standard folder. From a basic list of running processes, users easily select functions from pull-down menus and toolbar buttons.
PrcViewer greatly simplifies controlling processes. Users easily can set what information is available at a glance for each process. The list is immediately sorted simply by clicking a column header. Context-clicking any process opens a menu to quickly display the file properties, threads, modules, and other process data. The same menu makes it a snap to kill, set the priority or affinity of the selected process. For an unfamiliar process, you also can open a Google search in your default browser with a click on the menu. Displaying a process tree, start-up applications and all modules are additional tools quickly accessed with a click or two.
Advanced users will greatly appreciate the easily configured process monitor graph. While it would have been helpful to be able to change font size, the program font is serviceable. Any user who has opened the Task Manager to get process information, will find PrcViewer a much more useful freeware tool.

Version: PrcView 5.2.15.1
Pros: No nonsense, straight to the point software. Good UI, no bloat. Does what it does - perfectly. Beats ms-taskmgr hands down.
Cons: The system tray icon is a bit dull. ;)

"better utility then "Windows Task manager""
Pros: I was looking for some free utility for Windows OS so that I could get information on what processes and threads are keeping my CPU busy. This utility gives that information very well and also provides information about the processes and their expected functionality.
Cons: Nothing to mention at this time.

Version: PrcView 5.2.15.1
"Easier to read than Windows Task Manager"
Pros: The overall display is much easier to interpret than Windows Task Manager. But best is being able to choose processes to monitor in a graph format - a much clearer way to see what is going on.
