Publisher's description of Power Center
From Tien-Hao's Freeware:Power Center is a battery management program that estimates the amount of time your battery has left to run, rather than the percentage of power left in the battery. It recalibrates its estimate each time and keeps a record of it so future estimates are more accurate. With the help of the Control Center, you can set the Power Center to inform you whenever the battery is lower than a specific percentage, at a specific percentage, or when the AC power goes on or off. In this version the window mode restoration problem has been solved. Version 2.12 includes a few minor bug fixes.

Version: Power Center 2.12
"This program will wipe out your power settings"
Pros: Easy to use and the program is free
Cons: After installing this program, the main screen for Power Center popped up and I set up the options. It didn't do anything different than what my default setting did. I went to control panel and then to power management and found that all but three of the power schemes were totally deleted by Power Center. I had to do a restore on my XP machine to get these settings back. This program is a total failiure. Not recommended.

Version: Power Center 2.12
Pros: small
Cons: has no abilitie to work on multiple desktops

Version: Power Center 2.12
Pros: Its small and it shows the time remaining (which my notebook couldn't show before).
Cons: What's the point of have the battery info. available at a glance if u have to right-click it and then click "Refresh" every time you want an updated, accurate reading? An indicator that doesn't update itself in real time is an unneeded hassle.

Version: Power Center 2.12
"It does exactly what the Windows one does - so why bother?"
Pros: It worked & it's free
Cons: I've seen alot of these battery meters now and the question is why bother? The time predictions are no more accurate than the pretty inaccurate Windows one! Can't someone do something that I can trust?
