Pop Up Blocker automatically blocks spyware and adware pop-up ads. It also helps you choose which windows to close with the block list feature. This means the more you use Pop Up Blocker, the fewer pop-up ads you see. Pop Up Blocker blocks advertisement in the forms of inline videos, background sounds, JAVA applets, animated GIF files, Macromedia Flash movies, and video and flashing banner ads (ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger service, MSN Messenger), and all major video formats. Pop Up Blocker protects your home page setting from being forcibly hijacked by malicious Web sites and spyware, which modifies your default start page.

Version 6.0.6a blocks two new forms of spyware/adware pop-up ads.

Designed to stop irritating Internet ads, Pop Up Blocker performs poorly. The interface is easy enough to comprehend, featuring clearly labeled buttons for enabling blocking, adding sites to an allow list, and dealing with Flash ads.

Unfortunately, in our tests, the application exhibited a rather frustrating performance, as it only stopped a few of the simplest pop-ups we threw its way and left Flash ads intact, even when we used the most stringent blocking scheme. The feature that limits the number of windows your computer can simultaneously open would be a nice touch if it didn't keep you from opening windows yourself.

Since tons of similar programs are on the market, we suggest most folks track down a more effective solution.

  "Only Ok"

  Pros: It does what it says it does. Very effiecent doesn't bother you at all, and does not effect the speed of your browser. I recommened this to people who surf the web a lot without great virus protection.

  Cons: Really I see this program unnessacery. Why would you pay $15 to buy a pop-up blocker when you can spend $20 to get Norton, McAfee, Panada, Zone Alert, Kaskpery, and many other great virus-protection that do come with a pop-up blocker. I think its a waste of money.

  "looks to be working"

  Cons: instead of getting pop ups I ocassionaly get the internet explorer page appearing but contains no address, so it just sits their until I close the page down

  "so so"

  Pros: If you tell Pop up Blocker to block each popup individually, it blocks it

  Cons: Pop up Blocker shows popups first and only then they can be blocked. As a result, I have to see all the popups before I block them. I think this blocker could be better if it blocked popups first on itself without showing them to me first.

  "HORRIBLE"

  Pros: Easy to install.

  Cons: First site I went to created 5 popups and this software failed to block any of them. I reinstalled Super Ad Blocker and it blocked them all.
