Folks pining for the nostalgia of a Polaroid photo may enjoy the whimsical quality this small freeware app evokes. Dragging and dropping the image into the Polaroid frame couldn't be simpler, but the rest of the application's features err on the side of simplicity. There are more editing controls than meet the eye in this button-less app, but hidden in an F1 Help menu and named as additional Function keys, these tools are easy to miss and hard to remember. The file name is also left to memory; while Polaroid does let you choose a destination folder, it reserves naming rights and will invariably appoint an IMG prefix.

Bringing editing controls to the surface, liberating file naming, and resolving the bug of a flickering application will do wonders for promoting the application's quaint charm. Users who can look beyond these flaws will find a light-hearted program for adding interest to a photo.
