Looking spiffy isn't always the key to a program's capabilities, and PerfectDisk Rx is a perfect example. This optimizer suite's default skin sports a basic gauge that lists your computer's health as poor, fair, or excellent. It looks nice, but your default poor rating is based simply on the fact you haven't previously run PerfectDisk Rx.

You can choose all or some of the nine keys that the program cleans. We've seen much faster registry analyzing tools. Even selecting a single item to check doesn't improve the speed. The program grinds away as though it is still checking every hive. The drive optimizer quick scan still imparts much information, but novices may not know the best route to improve the drive. The step-by-step wizard helps but will seem slow to advanced users.

An option to reclaim free space does so by deleting temporary files and searching for file duplicates. Unfortunately, duplicate files are only judged by name and size. The trace eraser operates like most others, but can operate on both Firefox and Internet Explorer. The 15-day trial is more than enough time for novices to check out this program suite. Advanced users will quickly decide to seek out a more comprehensive suite.

  Perfectly Horrible!!

  Pros: Absolutely nothing!!

  Cons: Free trial version does the same thing that a lot of "free trial" download programs do. Trys to trick you into thinking that your system is so unhealthy you MUST buy their product to fix it. It purposely misdiagnosed my system. Also doesn't give you any option to uninstall except through "Add or Remove Programs".

  I only gave it one star because there's no option for no stars.
