Pegasus Mail is a free, standards-based electronic mail client suitable for use by single or multiple users on single computers or on local area networks. It has special support for Novell NetWare LANs that allow it to operate intuitively and with almost no maintenance. Pegasus Mail gives you multiple viewing options; automated rule-based filtering and content control; MailMerge and distribution list functions; support for SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, LDAP, and PH protocols; comprehensive HTML mail generation; address books with aliasing functions; and even a spelling checker.

Version 4.41 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

  Pegasus Mail

  I still prefer Thunderbird

  Pros: I like the look and features and can configure and receive Fastmail accounts. If Pegasus ever offers the ability to receive other mail accounts, I'd probably uninstall Thunderbird.

  Cons: I don't have to read a manual to figure out Thunderbird account setups. Plus, I can configure my AOL, Hotmail, and Yahoo accounts with Thunderbird. And I just don't find it easy to navigate this program.

  Pegasus Mail

  Slow with a lot of e-mails

  Pros: - rule-based filtering

  Cons: - it falls every now and then

  - spell checker is weird with no settings

  - slow if you have a lot of e-mails
