absolutely essentil if you use p2p
Pros: using P2P without PG2 is the same as swimming with sharks unprotected !!
it is very simple to use/understand..
it blocks anti p2p angences from seeing what you are downloading (it does NOT block your ip address)
it also blocks spyware and maleware..
the block list is MASSIVE >
when it is blocking an ip it flashes you can click on PG2 if you wish to allow the IP temp or for good..
you can also check out your ip history what it allowed and what it blocked..
block list updates are available every 2-3 days..
i used to use this just for P2P but as im not a safe surfer i use this all the time now ..
Cons: this blocks loads and loads of sites that are safe when you are using this for surfing the web..

You need this if you plan on using P2P Filesharing networks
Pros: Its free.
Its open-source.
It blocks undesirable P2P traffic, such as suspected federal agents, or, more importantly, spam inteded to flood networks with fake content.
Lets you sleep happy at night.
Works as a firewall in some respects.
Cons: Has a lot of false positives.
Blocks ALL University traffic...which in most respects is a bad thing since those are usually where the fastest downloads speeds come from.
Not good for use with general internet traffic...intended for use ONLY with P2P filesharing programs. Use with web browsing produces undesirable browsing results (it blocks a lot of safe servers associated with many safe and well-trafficed websites).

Everyone who uses any type of P2P should use this
Pros: Blocks TONNES of IPs from seeing what your doing on P2P networks, so this will you "invisible" to governments, and people that shouldnt see what your doing :P ( like the RIAA, and other copyright protection companies )
Cons: Conflicts with my FireFox, so I now only use this when on P2P networks

THis can help avoid spyware from Adds & sites
Pros: if you know how to find website, or adds ip strings you can apply them to PG2 and block bad websites and add networks so you wont run into them, or a dumb user wont.
i use this to block websites, add sites, and any sites i dotn want people going to on this computer. just because its safer to block the ip addy.
You can use your own custom blocking, via .txt file
If your into file sharing, i guess this will help too.
blocks the "best" of the worst malware add sites.
Cons: you cant "hide" it as in run hidden in the background.
when you want to enable a blocked item for 1hr or 30min to surf there, it becomes a problem, takes a while for it to process the allowance, and sometimes theres multiple strings to allow to surf sites like Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com . can be troublesome to average surfer.
