Pros: FLV to AVI Converter has a fairly straightforward interface and the conversions are quick.

There are several different pre-set output settings (for iPod, DVD, VCD etc.) and you can also use custom settings.

The program does not require an install just extract the .zip archive and double click flvtoavi.exe. You can even be run from a USB stick or other portable device.

It will batch convert files and there's also an option to shutdown the computer when it's finished the batch.

It has a neat looking and there's no advertising.

It's only 2.5Mb and free.

Cons: I found that the default options produced quite a low quality converted file so I had to play around with the settings a bit to get to get the output just how I wanted - but it's quite straightforward to do this.

There are no help files included in the program although some help is provided on the developer's website.

Pros: I downloaded the software & ran it immediately. I opened 4 flv files I needed converted to mpg files and it did it quickly and without a problem. I was able to watch all 4 mpg files....no watermarks or partial conversions. Great!

Cons: It doesn't actually install on your computer which might actually be a good thing...lol

Awesome Program

Pros: First of all. For those who ran across problems with this program (system crashes etc..) part of your problem is Windows Vista- Not the program. The interface is just the same as the 'to flv' converter. Easy and straight forward. Pro users always use the custom options with tons of control over the conversion. Both converters are portable meaning you can run it as is. For those looking for an uninstaller, you must be new to portable software. This means, no installer/uninstaller needed. all you do is 'delete' it and its magically uninstalled!

Cons: Can't find anything wrong with this program. (yet)

Pros: i like that its free and that it works. no watermark, just the ticket.

Cons: interface is a bit strange, could do with a bigger button at bottom right saying ''GO/Convert'' or something... this button is actually found at top center, and a bit obscure.
