Publisher's description of Passage 3
From GEKKO Software:Passage 3 is a game styled after dominoes, Tetris, solitaire, and Scrabble, with 800-by-600 pixel resolution and high-color graphics. The player places the tiles on the board according to a certain pattern. Tiles played must match the neighboring tiles in color or symbol. There are four game variations of this basic principle. Players can upload their high scores to see how they stack up against other Passage 3 players from around the world. There is an introduction to the game with spoken rules, tips, and a choice of ten soundtracks (using DirectMusic).
The beautifully rendered graphics of this game let players jump right in, and the verbal instructions will guide them to success in moments. This version has new game variations and four completely new graphics motifs so you can choose from eight different themes.
In version 2.5, the high score tables on the Internet now show the top 100 players for every game variation; the menu structure has been redesigned; a new "window" mode is available; and the download size is smaller.

5.0 stars
Compelling puzzle play makes Passage 3 worth hours of your time. Each tile you place must match its neighbors in color (red, yellow, blue, orange, green, and purple) or picture. You get bonus points for forming passages by filling up an entire row or column. Each time you place a tile incorrectly or discard a usable tile, you lose credits. The easy, medium, and hard levels differ mainly in how many credits you start with.
Four game modes offer variety. In Construct mode, you must fill designated spaces to clear a level. In Continue, you form passages to remove those tiles from the board, continuing until you run out of credits. Clear resembles Construct, only you must remove the spaces by forming passages. Classic mode asks you to place all 72 tiles, 12 symbols in each of the six colors. Every 30 minutes, a nag screen interrupts gameplay, but you can continue. The settings don't let you adjust the volume of the music and audio, which meant we had to turn off the music to hear the audio cues. Other than that, Passage 3 may be a perfect puzzle game.
