Version: Advanced Port Scanner 1.3
Pros: It seems to work.
Cons: McAfee has detected a program trying to send e-mail messages from your computer. This activity might indicate that a worm is on your computer.
Details
Name: C:\Program Files\Advanced LAN Scanner\Advanced LAN Scanner.exe
Description:
More Info
Computer worms are viruses that reside in a computer's memory and send copies of themselves to other computers through e-mail or instant messaging programs.
No I think the program scans your ports and then e-mails the results back to headquarters. The destination and contents of the e-mail are not shown by Mcafee AV.
It tried three times to send an e-mail.
Maybe the purpose of the e-mail is to prevent the program from being used by malicious hackers since any anti-virus program would detect the e-mail attempts. But the existence of the e-mail is not mentioned in the documentation. You can't be sure what it is doing.
