OpenOffice.org

it's a beta

by: FloridaSwamp on 13-May-2008 08:49:28 PM

Pros: it's still the best free alternative to ms office

Cons: i agree with a lot of the negative reviews. But we must also realize it's a beta release. I wouldn't recommend trying this product out if you have version 2.4 unless you love testing betas.

OpenOffice.org

Great

by: IG-87 on 13-May-2008 08:18:30 PM

Pros: It is the best free office suite. I couldn't really complain of a free software like this, even if it had something wrong (which is not the case).

OpenOffice.org

Not bad...

by: jeff.114 on 13-May-2008 02:36:49 PM

Pros: I like the interface, but...

Cons: When I tried to save a Text Document, it went to "Not Responding". I had to close the program. So I uninstalled it, and went back to v2.4.

Cons: will it let you do a custom install and pick only what you'll use?

OpenOffice.org

Loved it. Now, only like it.

by: xjay.com on 13-May-2008 10:24:52 AM

Pros: Great free alternative to M$.

Cons: However, you get what you pay for in this suite. It sure looks like OO isn't planning on staying too competitive with M$ or giving ppl a reason to switch over. Seen it all before. Give ppl high expectations then slowly lower the bomb. I agree with ceo51378. I am disappointed. Nothing much new in this suite to make me want to carry the message to others.
