Although it doesn't offer any fancy features, Video Converter handles its main job without incident. The program converts video files into any of the following formats: AVI, MPEG, RealMedia, ASF, and Windows Media. Video Converter didn't wow us with speed, but it worked just fine. The interface displays a list of files to convert as well as format options, and it can be dressed up with downloadable skins. The download file is surprisingly large for such modest functionality, in part because it contains Windows Media components you must download even if they're already installed on your PC. Still, if you need to watch AVI movies on your home DVD player, Video Converter is a decent solution.

"I tried many converters - This one worked without a glitch"

Pros: I needed to convert a ton of WMV files into mpegs, and so my review is entirely based upon how this software completed that task. First off, the software's trial version, while only seven days, is not handicapped by the most aggravating foolishness hampering some other trial software: the "50% File Transfer" limit. I mean what's up with that? Neither does this sofware have the 2nd most annoying handicap, the screen-clogging watermark (although I see that at least one other reviewer said they encountered this...I did not). My conversions were 100% complete, without any watermark. The interface could not have been more lucid, the bulk conversion feature is enabled, and the trial software appears to have no limit on how many files you can queue at once. I set it to convert a batch of about 70 wmv files (approx 5mb each), left it to itself, and returned to find them all successfully converted about twenty-five minutes later. It appers to work without a hitch.

Cons: No cons that I can find in terms of converting WMV to mpeg, but I attempted no other type of conversion.

Cons: I downloaded this program to convert my RealMedia videos to AVIs. Apparently, It doesn't do that.
