This RSS newsreader offers an intuitive user interface though it may not come packed with as many features as other software in its category. NewsFire's simple two-paned layout lets news items bubble to the top like when new buddies come online in iChat. Clicking on feeds in the left pane displays news items in the right pane with brief summaries. A click on the feeds title opens the story in default Web browser. Adding new feeds is extremely easy by clicking the Add button and typing in the Web address of your favorite news sites, or you can use NewsFire's Smart or Search feeds features to locate feeds that offer content specific to your interests. We would have liked a third pane to display news stories for added convenience, but it's hard to fault NewsFire when other aspects of the interface are so intuitive. If you're looking for a simple way to get the news or find more information on topics you enjoy, NewsFire is a well designed newsreader.
