Publisher's description of Eschalon Book I
Eschalon: Book I is a classic role-playing game experience that will take you across massive outdoor environments and deep into dozens of sprawling dungeons as you seek to uncover the mystery of who - or what - you are. It features a tile-built, turn-based game world where the result of absolutely every action is rolled, calculated or statistically determined. Strategy is paramount to success; careful skill management, equipment selection and magic usage will win your fights, not rapid button clicking. There are hundreds of items and dozens of creatures await your discovery. A combination of randomly generated treasure and carefully hidden goodies means that no two games will play the exact same way.

Version: Eschalon Book I 1.04
"Not worth it unless you want are trying to learn patience."
Pros: The intro was sorta cool. The game interface was fairly easy, from what little I played the game. Also, they had fairly well detailed descriptions of just about everything. All you needed to do was move your cursor over whatever it was--skill, item, etc.
Cons: Umm...you couldn't run? You could only walk. And not just walk--like tiptoe. In addition, when you rested, you regained like 1 hit point every 15 seconds. I think the designer of this wanted people to learn patience. I am not a patient person, especially when I'm trying to play a game and enjoy it:/

"Great Concept, Runs super slow...Even at 2Ghz+"
Pros: A really well thought out 2D game..maps are good, transistions to dungeons are good.....But...
Cons: My Gosh... It takes 3 minutes to walk to another area on the same board....After 15 minutes, i couldn't handle it any longer.
