From NetworkActiv: Very easy to use, intuitive, 100% freeware, secure, Windows based Web server with a multilingual graphical user interface and a real-time on-screen connection log. Has a small footprint and can be easily setup in just a few minutes. Allows you to host Web sites and share files directly from your computer; share as many folders as you like. Supports the resuming of broken downloads, and supports direct HTTP file upload. Supports CGI, PHP, and Perl. Collects comprehensive statistical information, which is viewable locally and remotely via a Web browser. Customizable 404 and other error pages, customizable colours and fonts of file listings, and supports index files. Restrictable access by password protection and by IP address range allowing/blocking. Can be run as a service on NT based systems. This server can even be run without installing. Can easily host several domains simultaneously using native support. Version 3.5.16 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

  Pros: An extremely easy to use layout.

  Cons: I got it working fine, but could only see the web page on my own computer. I tried to get my friends on to it, but they only got an error. this leads me to believe that it is only being shared as far as my network, if even that, and not to the internet like i wanted. If anyone has any suggestions, i would apreciate it.

  Works Great, Here's help getting on the web

  Pros: To see your page you need to make sure port 80 or the port you've designated is open through your firewall, router, to the outside world.

  Look for a port prober online to see whether the port you're using is indeed open.

  If you have multiple computers on your home network you will need to set up your router to forward the port to the ip address of the computer that the server is set up on.

  To see your page you need then to plug in your external ip address in your browser that can be found at a site like ipchicken.com

  If you purchased a static ip from your isp it won't change otherwise it will vary over time depending on the settings of your isp(internet service provider).

  If you wan't to have something like mypage.com you can goto dyndns.com or no-ip.com and if you follow their directions get your site on the web even with a dynamic(changing ip address) with no or little cost depending on what you want it to do.

  If this isn't straight forward you can look at my site. emeraldweb.gotdns.com if you catch it up of course. I tinker with it at times.

  Cons: I wish you could have different security permissions unique to each folder you select to be available, not just having one id and password for everything.
