Publisher's description of Netvantage Functional Tester
From Netvantage:Netvantage Functional Tester, automated Web testing software, makes creating functional, regression, and acceptance test scripts quick and easy. Boasting its industry leading gui, Netvantage Function Tester allows your existing Q.A. testers to create reusable data driven Web automation test scripts / macros, without coding that could have only been created by writing code with the last generation tools.
Netvantage Functional Tester using Microsoft's Internet Explorer and our built in forms, you can randomly select a value from a drop down, specify multiple values for an input. And unlike most, if not all, of the competition, Mercury Interactive, Quick Test Pro, Test Director, and Rational, you can run multiple tests as the same time allowing your test team to increase their performance, while decreasing overall costs. Version 2.27 update recording and play back, fixed IE 7 issue and bug fixes.

Editor's review of Netvantage Functional Tester
Test Web site usability with this robust application, although it is best suited for highly interactive sites. Netvantage Functional Tester's interface uses scripts and playback to perform most functions. The program includes a very helpful program demonstration. The demo steps through all functions with informative pop-ups detailing important points.
Using Netvantage Functional Tester is very easy. You simply load it then start using your browser. The program records every link clicked and every entered form item. When finished, you can easily save a script of all actions for later playback. With the app's simple layout, it is easy to read the playback script while watching it on the browser. To make sure you see what the tester saw, the program records snapshot images for every item clicked. You can very easily alter recorded scripts to add variables and options for future testers. When testing is complete, the program generates a simple script run summary. Basically a step list and accompanying screen images, the report is good to give others as an example site test.
Though this app works on all sites, it is best utilized testing complicated Web sites where designers need to learn how users actually surf the site. We recommend the program for designers who need to step back and see bottlenecks in their Web sites. The generous 71-day demo period is more than enough time to put Netvantage Functional Tester to the test.
