Even better, e-mail the list to someone else in a single step, and let him or her do the shopping. Just as its name suggests, My Shopping List lets you build, save, and alter any number of grocery lists. You simply populate each of the category tabs, such as Dairy or Vegetables, with items your household consumes and the quantity you want. When it's time to shop, you can check off individual items in each category. Right-clicking gives you options for checking or unchecking all items in the category or on the entire list. You can print or e-mail the finished list, complete with a Notes field. However, it would be nice if unused categories didn't appear on the final list. E-mailing requires that you set Outlook as your default e-mail client. Also, the quantity appears too far from the grocery item it describes; a table format or grid lines would improve legibility. Finally, changing the quantity of an item for the printed or e-mailed list changes the underlying quantity on your saved list, even if you don't press the Save button. Despite these quirks, My Shopping List offers enough flexibility and functionality to earn a home on many family PCs.
