- "Simple, fast, and free"
This image viewer and editor is a longtime favorite among our staff, and with good reason. IrfanView is simple, fast, and free for individual use. Upon installation, the app attempts to install two Google programs, but you can opt out.
The program lets you open and edit images, as well as multiple media formats. You can cut and crop images, apply batch conversions, add, sharpen, or blur effects, create panoramas, and change color modes easily. The program continues to add support for an array of file formats and has plug-in support for most image, video, and sound formats, including MP3, AVI, audio CD, and WMA. The interface is far from fancy but should be easy enough for most users to figure out. An IrfanView Thumbnails shortcut on the desktop offers an Explorer-like file tree that quickly displays all images in a particular folder. The latest version includes a basic drawing palette made accessible by hitting F12. It contains simple Erase, Draw, Fill, Rotate, Draw an Arrow, and Color Picker commands, perfect for grabbing screenshots and highlighting image specifics.
IrfanView does what it does well. It's not going to replace a major paint program, but why use a meat cleaver to cut a stick of butter?

Version: IrfanView 4.1
Pros: I have downloaded this and haven't found use of it yet, however it is very small in size, lightweight, and perfect for easy image editing such as resizing, removing red eyes from photos, etc. It also views many types of images that Windows Picture And Fax Viewer can't. It can actually save me the time when wanting to do small editing without opening up stupid, big, bloated, annoying Photoshop CS3.
Cons: Although the image editing is pretty basic, Paint (that comes with every Windows) can resize also, so I really have no need for this product. However, its use is mainly as a picture viewer which is pretty powerful. I thought the icon for IrfanView is a little weird. Is it suppose to be a red monster? Oh well, still a great product.

Version: IrfanView 4.1
Pros: IrfanView is by far one of the greatest image viewing and editing programs in this world!
Cons: 4 stars, IfranView needs a simple screen-capture utility to capture your printed screens without doing the same thing with MSPoint.
I found a program called "Screen Capture Professional" and it is amazing! I use it with IrfanView to view, manage, edit and capture at the same time! GREAT :D!

Version: IrfanView 4.1
Pros: IV is very good and quite fast in resizing and resampling pictures, easy to add some pixel rows aat any margin, very fast viewer for nearly everything, including audio and video. Easy to use, small amount of resources, lowest cost (something cheaper than "nothing"?)

Version: IrfanView 4.1
Pros: Considering it's free, pretty good at what it does.
Cons: Not enough features for what I wanted. Guess I need to look at a pay-for app.
