Publisher's description of Safari
This Web browser is completely integrated with Mac OS X technologies such as Rendezvous and iSync. It renders pages with a high degree of speed and standards compliance. The interface features an innovative bookmarking system, as well as tabbed browsing and a built-in Google search box with a breadcrumb feature called SnapBack. You can block pop-up ads and instantly use your Internet Explorer favorites as well as any URLs in your Address Book. Version 3.1.2 includes unspecified updates.

- "Go on a Safari"
Apple's latest version of Safari still puts it among the top browsers in its category, but those who like to customize their surfing experience may need to look elsewhere. Version 3 adds some exciting new features including resizable text fields, the ability to reopen your previous browsing session upon launch, and significantly faster page load times.
The Snapback feature makes it easy to return to your original page when your surfing through a lot of links. Safari also lets you collect and browse through RSS feeds right from the bookmarks panel. We like the clean interface and layout of browser controls, but some more ability to customize would be nice.
Overall, we think Safari is a great browser for Mac, but if you want more add-ons and more customization features, you should probably try another browser.

Version: Safari 3.1.2
"A fast browser without a lot of excess baggage."
Pros: Not only did Safari pass the Acid 2 Test without any problems, but it's a sleek browser without all the bells and whistles that heavier browsers like IE-7 offer. The Mac version is safe, fast, and easy to use. It doesn't have as many plug-in options as Firefox 3 does (which I also tried), but it doesn't hog system resources and integrates well with the OS-X operating system and applications.
Cons: As mentioned above, it doesn't have all the plug-in flexibility that Firefox 3 offers.

Version: Safari 3.1.2
Pros: The webpages load really quick. I have Firefox, but switched to Opera, now to Safari. Awhile back when Safari first came out for Windows, I got it, but it was a bit buggy, and not fast. I haven't tried out all the features, but for the price (free) it's definitely faster than any other browser to date.
Cons: Since it is an Apple product, it doesn't have all the same hot key shortcuts I am use to. That isn't a minus really, it's just different.

Version: Safari 3.1.2
Pros: Very speedy, streamlined interface, well-integrated with OS X (and Dashboard, Mail, Preview, etc.), Webkit rendering engine is currently the most standards-compliant. (Look at results of Acid 2 and 3 tests.)
Cons: Download manager is adequate, but basic.
Summary: I'm grading on a curve here. No browser is perfect, but Safari is my favorite for the Mac. It's fast, and the keyboard and menu conventions are right (Firefox is a little clumsy in some places).
