CDFinder is the perfect solution to organize your data archive, and to keep track of your media assets. In essence, it is a powerful disk cataloging software for the Apple Macintosh. Bring order to your data archive with powerful search functions, and browse catalog files offline. Catalogue any data disk, CD-ROM, DVD, iPod, hard disk, network volume, floppy, ZIP, Audio-CD, and more. In networks multiple users can share the catalogs, import existing Disk Recall, DiskWizard, FindIt, Disk Tracker 1.x., Catalogue and CatFinder catalog files, read MP3 and AAC (iTunes 4) information and tags.

New in version 4.2: Launching of CDFinder is much faster thanks to the new QuickLaunch Cache. Cataloging is much faster using improved algorithms. Overall operation is faster due to a new enhanced memory engine. CDFinder can now automatically update the CDFinder Database Folder in the background to detect any changes. That is very useful if the database is stored on a server volume and several people modify the contents of the database. The memory management of catalog data has been improved. The amount of memory that CDFinder uses can now be modified any time in the new 'CDFinder Database Status' window, and more.

Version: CDFinder 4.2

"How Have I lived without it for sooooo long!"

Pros: Amazingly easy to use! ( I cataloged 4 years worth of design projects in just 2 hours---and most of that time was spent organizing the CDs rather then dealing with the program). Fast! Cheap!

Cons: Wish there was a more efficient way of entering comments. Currently you have to view through the "get info" and enter there...would be great to be able to enter the info directly in the database....but this is not a deal breaker. I zipped through ton of entries lickity split even with the extra bit of keystroking...

"Amazing, the best of the crowd"

Pros: Lots and lots of important features and abilities
Prints Covers
Catalogs photo thumbnails and lots of meta data
it even catalogs Audio CDs

"Go to their homepage for newest version 5 (if 4.2 not avail)."

Pros: Does what it's supposed to, catalogs info from disks and doesn't use a lot of space.

Cons: None. Price is now $39 (not $25) maybe because of dollar exchange rate.
