From Moleskinsoft:Clone Remover will detect file duplicates on your hard drives. Including ZIP and RAR archives. This duplicate file finder will help to searches for exact file duplicates. Clone Remover will also find duplicate files of a zero size and files with the same names and sizes. After a short search process, you can select the duplicates you do not need manually or use a special tool for quick file selection. You can remove the selected files, move them to the recycle bin, move or copy them to a certain folder.

This freeware duplicate file finder is fast, flexible, and accurate, but some may find the process difficult at first. Moleskinsoft Clone Remover Free's complex and crowded interface may not be novice friendly, but advanced users will appreciate the many quickly-set configuration parameters. The program's process isn't readily apparent, but a quick look at the help file successfully simplifies the steps.
Clone Remover Free finds duplicate files quickly either by comparing content or properties. However, we found it quicker when comparing several small files rather than a smaller set of larger files. That speed works best for users with many image files; the group this utility is designed to help. The parameter panel appears complicated at first blush, but the many tabs and options prove to be a well-designed method to quickly change options. Choosing the files to compare is simple as you merely browse through a folder list and click those to search. You can as easily set folders not to compare. Setting file masks by extensions or size takes just a moment. Our only complaint was the parameter screen included options for MP3 files, which are disabled in this freeware and are simply in the way.
The results tab is split into two lists of duplicate files, either by contents or properties. Clicking a file name immediately displays the image to help users check results. Deleting files takes just a double-click, or you can choose to let the program automatically select and delete the duplicates. Our testers found the program's learning curve slightly steeper than other programs in this genre, but the parameter flexibility won them over to this freeware. We can easily recommend it for any user with folders full of images.

Version: Moleskinsoft Clone Remover Free 1.9
Pros: The interface was easy and it worked very well in finding dupes (thousands came up) and not knowing which files I should delete, I really appreciated the "Remove Duplicate Files Automatically" (or something like that) feature and I figured I was home free. However...
Cons: ...Even with the "Protect System Files" featured enabled, I got a message saying some of the files being removed would cause Windows not to operate correctly and that I needed the Windows CD before I could continue. The original disc wasn't the one that worked and I assumed it was the Service Pack 2 disc that it was asking for. I couldn't cancel no matter how hard I tried and had to shut my computer down (which I didn't have). On reboot, my mouse wouldn't work (even in safe mode) and I had to re-register my version of Windows (twice) before I was able to get my computer back up. It was a nightmare, to say the least.

"Missing multiple drive searching and deleting"
Pros: It's free!
Cons: I did not try this program because I found that it only searches one drive at a time. I wanted to find duplicates between internal and external backup drive.

"Great small program that is fast and easy to use."
Pros: Program is fast on finding duplicate files and other things. I prefer this over their new version (and no not because this one is free).
Cons: Scrolling is faster with keyboard than mouse wheel. Displayed creation, modify, and access date all locked in same date, so you cannot go by that information.

Pros: It does as advertised. Finding duplicate files is pretty easy and the interface is functional and mostly intuitive.
Cons: It lacks some features that would be good for partial backup cleanup. For example, you cannot limit comparisons to only show files with the same relative path (say, c:\BLAH\xyz.txt matching e:\backups\2008-06\BLAH\xyz.txt, but not c:\test\clone.txt).
Summary: If all you want is a software to find cloned documents or duplicated DLLs in a single hard disk, without the need for advanced filtering used in backup management, go with this one. It'll do what you want with minimal effort. Otherwise, you'll have ... read more >>

Pros: Does what I needed it to do, finds dup files for me to delte.
Cons: 1)The name! For some reason it really put me off. What does 'moleskinsoft' have to do with a program that finds and deletes dup files???
Summary: Works just fine for me needs. Could have a 'prettier' and simplier gui.
