Editor's review of Mirror 2005 Standard Edition Q3
Mirror 2005 Standard Edition Q3 doesn't really stand out as a backup utility, although we can't gripe about its performance. The program's clear-cut interface should present no problems. In our tests, we were able to execute backup jobs on demand and schedule them to run at specified intervals. Like similar apps, this program uses profiles to store information about what files to back up, where to store them, and when to do so. You also can set compression levels ranging from low to high. In our tests, the program demonstrated good speed during backup creation, as well as in restoration. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that Mirror 2005 Standard Edition Q3 misses some fairly standard features. It doesn't back up your e-mail client--not even the ubiquitous Outlook program--and can't store backup files in other locations such as a CD, Local Area Network (LAN), or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server. Its 14-use trial also is too short for our tastes as well.
Mirror 2005 Standard Edition Q3 covers only the basics of file backup, and it won't be hard to find a tool that offers more features and functionality.
