Publisher's description of MereSurfer 2005 All-in-IE Edition
From Meresoft:
This patch for Internet Explorer adds a multiwindow tabbed navigator, a pop-up blocker, a tracks eraser, and a banner remover. You don't need more than one browser running on your system. The program kills image and Flash banners, fixes Web bugs, clears Internet tracks, and protects you from denial-of-service attacks. You can recover disk space by deleting all Internet trash with one click. One feature prevents trusted domains from MereSurfer, and you can import trusted domain names from your Favorites folder. This program plays a sound when blocking pop-ups and doesn't kill good pop-ups. The Pop-Up Blocker module uses artificial intelligence to block all known bad pop-ups.
Version 10.8 includes the modified Ad Blocker module.

Editor's review of MereSurfer 2005 All-in-IE Edition
Our favorite aspect of the MereSurfer 2005 All-in-IE Edition plug-in is its much-needed support for tabbed browsing a la Firefox, Mozilla, and Opera (though it takes a good idea too far, providing no way to open a page in a new window instead of a tab). However, that's not all. MereSurfer offers solid and flexible tools for blocking pop-ups and ads, blacklisting sites, and cleaning up your browsing history. For instance, you can set the program to clean your browser's cache, cookies, and history for untrusted domains only. The pop-up blocker performed well in our tests, and the aforementioned stability problems have been resolved. Still, some users may find it annoying that the application pops up a nag screen every time you launch a new browser window. Nevertheless, habitual Internet Explorer users looking to extend the functionality of their browser might find this download useful.

MereSurfer 2005 All-in-IE Edition
Good, but it can still be improved.

Pros: Adding tabbed browsing capabilities to Internet Explorer takes a unique approach. In addition to the tabbed browsing, it had a ad-blocker, pop-up blocker, and Internet tracks eraser. It has a trusted domain feature for pop-up blocker, tracks eraser, and ad-blocker. While other developers make a browser skin altogether. Meresoft took a different approach to improve the useability of Internet Explorer itself.
Cons: The program's tabbed browsing features could be improved. Specifically to open a new tab and to block pop-ups that open in new tabs by a right click menu. You can open a new tab by using IE's File menu and click on New, then Window. When you right click on the tabs on the tabs bar, the only option you have is Close. These little things keep this program from being top notch and truely easy to use. I am not sure as to the effectiveness or how thorough the tracks eraser such as to what secure standard of deletion it uses, or even whether the program securely erases index.dat files. I am using the free trial yet I saw I had 14 day left. I assume this means that advance features of the program such as ad-blocking turns off when the free trial expires. I really can't say. This program has potential though.

Pros: It's got great features and easy to use interface
Cons: Doesn't mention anywhere in the description that it's only free for 14 days and that you have to pay $30 or so for a personal copy!!

MereSurfer 2005 All-in-IE Edition
Not FREE at all.

Pros: Good product for the job.
Cons: The company is not being up front that this download is actually a trial version and then you must pay for it. That is being under handed to people willing to download this program thinking that it's free when there is a cost of $30 at the end of the 14 day trial period. Click on the publisher link first and read before proceeding to download this one.

MereSurfer 2005 All-in-IE Edition
Great for tabbed browsing, shame about the nag screen

Pros: Allows your Internet Explorer to have tabbed browsing, which is better than the current MSN Bar tab feature.
Good one-click removal of Internet tracks and allows one-click 'add to trusted sites' so certain tracks wont be removed.
Cons: A nag screen, appears whenever you open Internet Explorer. It says you can get rid of it by registering, but the website doesn't work at the moment, so, your stuck with it. Apart from that, does exactly what it says on the tin, and it does it well.
