This reminder program is about as simple and bare-bones as they come. Basically, Memento allows you to append any number of sticky notes to your desktop. The program provides a few pastel-colored templates at random, but you can't select the color yourself or change the font. The tiny notes also can't be resized to a larger view. Right-clicking the application's system-tray icon will let you view all notes at once, and you can generate a new one with a hot key. However, don't expect any extra features such as pop-up reminders or audio alarms. Folks seeking an extremely basic note-taking app for no cost might consider Memento, but it's certainly not for power users.

Pros: This program is great, plus it is easy to use. I have tried various other sticky notes programs and found that they were annoying or too hard to use.

Cons: None!

"Almost perfect as well as nice looking"

Pros: Excellent desktop note program -- and I've compared many other free ones! -- with it's system tray icon (means no taskbar button!), hiding notes, multiple colors, and transparency ability. Beautiful looking (especially when transparent) and simple.

Cons: The only possible downside would be that it doesn't allow for text styles/colors. Sorry, but has to lose one star because of that. But even so, it's the best of the free ones, and I'm using it! :)

"the best notepad for your computer that i'v found so far..."

Pros: i love this software because it is very efficient. it is easy and simple to use. i also love how it stays on top of my other applications so i can REALLY take notes while looking at other things. the transparency option is cool too. very efficient. try it!

Cons: i wish the notepad looked a little cooler. i like the simplicity, but making things look cool can still be simple. also, i wish it had options to bold, italicize, color, etc. the font.

Pros: Everything! ...resizable, randomly makes each note a new color while they each maintain the same customized size, many options.

Cons: None so far.
