Download DIY: Make a pro-quality
screensaver

by Brian Satterfield (4/7/06)

As digital cameras make their way into more and more homes, shutterbugs are faced with ever-increasing options for sharing their handiwork. Building an online photo gallery or submitting your shots to a devoted photo-sharing site are both fine solutions, but creating your own screensaver--complete with nifty effects and a custom soundtrack--can show off your pictures in an entirely new light.

In the latest installment of our Download DIY series, we offer an easy method for improving the look of your images and packaging them in an attractive screensaver that will impress your friends and family. If you're feeling ambitious, you can even add features that allow for commercial distribution.

Disclaimer: Whether your screensaver is for commercial or personal use, you should steer clear of copyright violation by only including photos and songs that you are legally licensed to use.
