From Allume Systems:SpamCatcher seamlessly integrates with Outlook. Checks between 1000 and 100,000 rules per message to accurately detect spam. Automatically updates new rules from the Mailshell SpamLabs. User can train SpamCatcher to learn what is and what is not spam. The optional Mailshell Web service supports AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, and IMAP e-mail accounts. If you don't use Outlook, Outlook Express for example, get the SpamCatcher POP Anti-Spam or Enterprise Suite version instead. The core SpamCatcher Engine is also available for licensing into third-party products. Version 3.2d includes major improvements to accuracy and minor bug fixes.

Pros: Catches more spam than other similar programs
Cons: Twice I have emailed Allume Systems with regard to Mailshell NOT catching blocked domains and countries. Guess what . . . no response from technical support or customer service.

"Best antispam I've tried--except for stability"
Pros: When it works, it is the best I have tried. Very adjustable threshold makes it easy to fine tune.
Cons: Crashed twice during the trial period. The fix was not obvious, and tech support is slow-to-nonexistent. Except for these problems, I would have given it 5 stars.

"Great scam to sell your e-mail address to spammers!"
Pros: Can't really say anything, except that it is an amazing scam.
Cons: Creates at least 10 times more spam with the MailShell installed. Amazing scam!!! After uninstalling MailShell spam mail has dropped drastically BUT the mailshell process still exists on startup after you reboot your computer. You must mainly go in and turn it off otherwise expect to receive spam.

"Slow, by far the WORST tech support"
Pros: It does work, but there are better/faster products. After using Mailshell for over a year I now use SpamFighter which I like more.
Cons: HORRIBLE tech support, non-existent. They NEVER return e-mails, period!
The product is resource heavy, even on the fastest PC with much of the lists unchecked. To make it worse, if their reporting server is having issues it will lock up Outlook and your PC, forcing at the minimum trying to kill Outlook at the Task Manager. Then you have to try to disable the add-on for Outlook to function until they are back on line.
NOT RECOMMENDED after over a year of use.
