Publisher's description of LinkScanner Lite
From Exploit Prevention Labs:LinkScanner Lite analyzes sites in real time to detect a wide range of online threats including malicious content, phishing, social engineering and targeted software exploits. As you surf the web, LinkScanner Lite site ratings tell you which sites are safe and which are dangerous at the only time that matters - right before you go there. Whenever you're surfing, just right-click any hyperlink on the web and LinkScanner Lite will give you an instant page security analysis. LinkScanner Lite integrates with major search engines to check organic and paid search results; a color-coded icon appears alongside each listing, so you get advance warning of poisoned sites and can steer clear of active threats. LinkScanner Lite is small, lightweight and won't impact system performance. It is free for personal use and compatible with major anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall products.
Version 2.6.6 increased speed of search analysis, improved threat detection, improved stability and performance.

Editor's review of LinkScanner Lite
This application dutifully assumes the role of online safety inspector, checking the search results found on a few popular search engines. LinkScanner Lite scans the results shown after a search request using Google, MSN, and Yahoo.
The program instantly goes to work right on the search engine's page, looking to uncover exploits, hacking, fraud, and other potentially dangerous PC threats. Icons indicating whether a site is safe, dangerous, or questionable are placed right alongside the results presented by your search engine of choice. Hover over the icon to get details like the site's domain name, IP address, and even the owner's name and address.
We like that you can still easily scan results from other search engines with a simple right-click, but it only scans one site at a time. To check out a specific URL, we had to type it onto the application's structured interface, but we would have appreciated scans from the browser or out of the system tray. Some safety indicators popped up quickly, while others took some time to appear. The app works with Internet Explorer and Firefox, and it will make you feel safer opening search results.
