Welcome to the world of Knight Online, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that utilizes a party system where you help your fellow players to advance. A prominent and exciting feature of Knight Online is the involving, persistent, large-scale war between players. Upon registering and creating your character, you must choose between two nations: El Morad, the nation of the human race, and Karus, the nation of the Orc tribes. The successful player will seek to join forces with others of his or her nation in order to obtain victory. By enduring battles, that character may also become a hero in the Knight Online World. He may also receive a title and reward from the King, become the lord of his own castle, and even rule over a city. Version 1.506 may include unspecified updates, enhancements or bug fixes.

Note: This is a very large (505MB) file and may take several hours to download via dial-up modem.

In the ever-expanding and competitive realm of MMORPGs, Knights Online has a sturdy reputation for offering the most for free. A heavily-populated game, with nearly 300,000 people online when we played, Knights provides a familiar fight-and-quest medieval milieu that encourages interaction with other players but doesn't demand it.

For a free download, the graphics are top-rate. As you acquire weapons and armor, your character's physical appearance changes to reflect both the new implement of death being swung and the new pants you're wearing. The POV changes are fairly smooth and occasionally disorienting for it. There also is a paid upgrade version that opens up a community that allows you to sell items at a higher rate and more power.

The user subscription has another benefit: consistent access. The game is so popular that free players are blocked during peak hours. There are the usual drawbacks of cheaters and complaints about customer support, but the biggest problem we encountered was the installation. On top of the massive install file, we were required to add 13 patches with absolutely no documentation; it was only from the Web site's player forums that we learned about them.

All that being said, it's a fun game that can magically obliterate your free time--and leave you happier for it.

  Great Game but dun waste ur time

  Cons: Hackers occupy every inch of the map. Practically impossible to level up if ur a noob. GMs do ban people frequently but obviously they are not doing a fantastic job. They must be quite blind to miss all those hackers around them.

  Pros: graphics are good and the battles between the factions are fun.

  ...thats about it...

  Cons: The games infested with more hackers then monsters... Honestly the games damaged beyond repair at this point. The service and aid wasn't that good either. Whats worse is that hackers and cheats are leeching all the spaces because of the premium vs. non-premium spacing. I caught a hacker in the factions battles once; he of corse got the highest score cause no one could kill him...the games gone dead im sad to say...If it wasn't hacker infested the game would be realy fun too...

  Cons: Down loaded but never got the game to perform right for me there were some

  problems. Not bad Maybe you can have better luck than I did.

  They are crooks

  Pros: There is nothing that I like about this game. The only positive was that I made a few ingame friends.

  Cons: I speant $500+ on this game for membersships and to buy scrolls from their "power up store" and how was I rewarded? They accussed me of cheating and banned my account. When I tried to contact them as stated in their own FAQ, I receiced a repeat message only that my account had been closed. They robbed me, and the better business bureau agrees.

  The servers are quirky at best, lagging constantly. Turkish people have taken over the game and ruined any sort of fun that they game provides because when they aren't begging they're threatening to turn you in for cheating if you don't help them. Cheaters are everywhere in the game and if you do decide to play do NOT become an archer. They'll ban you. I reached lvl 65 and could kill many mobs with one shot. This is what got me accussed. But they didn;t even bother to check it out for themselves. They just closed my account.

  There is absolutely no healp for new players. The quests are confusing as their text often misleads or gives the wrong information. If you do not buy scrolls and premium membership you are handicapped against those who do. They claim the game to be free to play but it isn't. If you do not buy a premium membership then you will be informed that only premium members can "login at this time". The servers are down for extended periods of time very often. Upon login you will generally be disconnected 3 to 5 times before you actually be able to stay in the game to play. Disconnects for no reason. It takes sometimes 10 to 15 minutes to login and after this length of time you will just have to try all over again until you can actually play the game. See above.

  Save your time and money and skip this dog. If you do decide to try it take some good advice and don't become an archer. They make you guilty of cheating by asscociation, not evidence.
