Editor's review of Kinati Privacy AppSuite
Despite some rather interesting privacy features, several issues prevent Kinati Privacy AppSuite from winning our full support. The tab-based interface is a bit awkward and features a completely unnecessary section that prompts you to register the full version. Privacy Bookmarks let you hide your Internet Explorer Favorites from prying eyes, while Window Curtain obscures which applications are running in your taskbar. The tools for deleting tracks from Windows locations and Internet Explorer handle basic threats but don't support plug-ins that wipe histories of applications. If you want to monitor your child's activities, you can log keystrokes and conversations held in IM clients. Kinati Privacy AppSuite also lets you restrict access to certain applications or areas of your computer. Although you can protect the program with a password, we didn't have much trouble disabling it via the Task Manager. We also thought the utility used an inordinate amount of system resources, hogging 27MB of RAM when running in our system tray. However, if a versatile collection of privacy tools is more important to you than ease of use or efficiency, we can recommend this program.
