When you first run KeepIt, you will be asked to create a master password. No one will know this password but you. This password is required in order to open your list of usernames/passwords, so please make sure you don't forget it. From now on it will be the only password you have to remember. This functional but bare-bones password manager stores all your login information in one password-protected database, but misses a couple of features that would make it stand out. KeepIt's utilitarian interface makes it easy to store user IDs, passwords, and associated URLs, but doesn't let you add notes or offer any custom fields. We like that you can launch Web pages from KeepIt's main window, but also would like to see an autofill feature to speed up the login process. You can copy login information to the clipboard, but it doesn't clear the clipboard to keep security tight. Similar to comparable programs, this one is protected with a master password, but it doesn't have an autolock component, so you'll have to remember to shut it down to safeguard your data. Also missing is a password generator, another fairly standard feature found in other programs of this type. While it doesn't offer an extensive set of features, KeepIt will work for any user looking for a no-frills way to manage passwords for free.
