From activePDF:PrimoPDF is a free tool for high-quality PDF creation, comprising a user-friendly interface that enables printing to PDF from virtually any Windows application. Additionally, PrimoPDF provides the ability to optimize PDF output for screen, print, ebook, and prepress, secure PDF files with 128-bit encryption, and add document information (e.g. title, author, subject, keywords) to converted PDF files. Full support for 64-bit machines, double byte character and non-TrueType font support, enhanced support for Microsoft Windows 98, NT, Me, 2000, XP and Vista and improved PDF output also now available.
Version 4.0.2 adds Advanced settings dialog.

- "Turn any file into a PDF"
PrimoPDF 4 converts just about any file type to a PDF, using the source program the file was created with and its print command. Two new changes make the program easier to use and more useful. The interface redesign is definitely easier to navigate, and users can now choose to email the PDF instantly after its creation.
The conversion process from whatever document is on your screen to PDF is quick and efficient. Other features include a security feature, which allows the user to wrap the PDF in 40-bit or 128-bit encryption, PDF merging, and password protection. The user also can restrict editing of the new PDF, leaving comments and making other changes.
Primo's size is surprisingly large for such an unobtrusive app, and it's absolutely necessary to launch the read-me file at the end of installation, since the application loads no icons and leaves no other visible traces on your machine, except in the Start menu's All Programs.

"eh its ok. not for Vista though"
Pros: Seems like they offer this "free" product on a paid for service like dl.com to push their mediocre product to get traffic and try an bait people to buy thier $99 product. After it didn't work on Vista, I found deskPDF also listed on this site and am happy.

Pros: free, produces good PDF
Cons: getting bigger and slower with every release. Version 3 was actually faster. Version 4 has crashed a couple of times on VISTA, ends with out of memory warning. Happanes when you try to convert big OFFICE files with lots of photos.

"Works well! Does what I need."
Pros: If you're lookig for a free pdf creation program look no further. Even allows you to combine documents into one pdf!
