    "Quick & Easy to use"

    by franko25 on January 31, 2005

Pros: Product downloaded without hitches and enabled me to download Issues 3 of free PC mag with no fuss. Does what it says on the tin and 10Mb is nothing by todays standards IMHO. Recommended if you want to get the free magazine which I believe is worth it.

    "Problematic"

by Trill on June 29, 2005

Pros: It brings every past issue of the excellent online magazine "Home Computer Magazine" to you automatically.. just like it says on the tin..

Cons: I couldn't automatically access the downloaded magazines and bonus subjects in the open program by clicking on them, It stated there were problems with missing/corrupt Dll's, I had to trawl through my PC to the magazines folder in the Issue Manager Folder to open them there, a real bind. In the end, to get quicker access I decided to copy and save the contents of the downloaded magazine folder to another one in My documents and access them there, also, the program seemed to interfere with my broadband dialup on a later re-boot presumably because it wants to connect to the net on startup ("another program is already trying to connect to the net") As my pc is not configured to automatically connect to the net on startup without my say so I couldn't re-connect again until I had removed it. If these issues are dealt with I would consider re-downloading the program but until then I will get the magazine direct.

"You can't beat a free magazine"

Summary: Nice and easy to use. Install it and it tells you new magazines are available. Choose to download them now or later (or never). That simple: no cost and no registration. The magazine you get is a PC centric publication in case that wasn't clear.

"Simple utility, but the magazine it delivers is excellent."

Summary: Simply install the utility and it tells you what new magazines are available. When I used it there was a full magazine and an additional supplement available, both computing titles, but that's what I was expecting. You need broadband, but then, they... read more >>
