  Not a memory hog Not a processor hog Not a space hog Never crashes, ever Loads any type of Image file (with the plugins) Plays audio files (I use it for playing mp3's mostly) Plays most video files (though it's not my primary video player) Opens .pdf files (I edit them with this program too) It's easy to figure out There's so many PRO's I can't list everything here - just try it AND IT'S FREE - no ads, no included crapware forced on you

  Cons

  The only thing that could be improved -maybe- is the "paint" function. Even tho it's a bit "light-weight", (it is simple and I use it alot). If I think of any con I would say it here, but after years of use I am *never* disappointed by this software. It always seems to work well for whatever I want it to do.

  Summary

  I don't think you can find a better, more versatile or easy to use program that is as good as IrfanView. It is updated frequently- always adding new features. It is well maintained. I realize that I would be totally lost on the computer without this software. It is so much more than an image viewer, it does a little bit of everything and does it very well. Just try it !!

  I've been using this program for MANY MANY years. It does so many things it would take hours to mention them all. However I use it almost daily for its custom screen capture function. I use this program more than all the other programs on my computer combined. Couldn't live without it.

  Cons

  It won't butter my toast.

  Summary

  So glad they finally corrected the flickering custom screen capture function in Windows XP after many years. It is now perfect again!

  I've been using Irfanview for many versions and I find it to be very robust, easy to use and extremely rich in functionality. I recommend it to everyone who is short of in need to use Photoshop.
