NoAdware
good

Pros: activex sheilds, ease of use; sheilds actually work against all cookies and pop-ups(with sheilds disabled, an option in the noadware program, I got a LOT more cookies to erase than ever; had to use Xoftspyse to erase)
Cons: upgrade costs money; possibly spyware/adware but I have had no issues with it; I find more infections (scanned with Xoftspyse) without noadware than with it

It's a lie

Pros: Do not download this "Free" software because it is NOT free. It will download for free and scan your computer but you have to pay over 40$ to get full access to this software. I was fooled by its "Free" in advertisements.

CNET JOINS THE MALWARE BIZ
by: mixaplex

Pros: does cnet not know or care what's posted for downloading?
cnet what are you guys thinking?! while working hard to build credibility in your reviews and how to's you allow con men and scam artists to put their fraud devices on you site.
Cons: NOADWARE IS MALWARE. make no mistake this is a destructive program. it spreads itself though deceptive methods and uses a shameful hoax to fool experierenced pc users into shelling out $30. for a device that does nothing other than disable real security program. the usual infection vector is nailing visitors to sites that hawk free games or ring tones, ect. hits them with the massive "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED" pop up and also installs a blue screen look alike desktop background image, proclaiming the same line of bull and telling you that noadaware is you only option click for a free scan . free scan is nothing but false positives. it then hooks the user into paying for their scam software that does nothing but remove that desktop warning and false positives. problem; many of those false positives are files that are part of your real security. just a little aside, dells offshore after warranty support have also used this device to scam people into their bogus $70 a 1/2 hour help service. we know dell is a pig outfit but cnet? come on guy clean up your site

Be Very Cautious

Cons: I too tried the trial version and was at first impressed with all it supposedly found. I was also wondering how it managed to find some supposedly real nasties like a key logger and some malware that Spy Sweeper somehow missed. When I found I needed to buy the full version to have these items taken care of I smelled a mere sales ploy. When I uninstalled it I discovered that a couple of my other programs I use to check out the over all status of my computer had been messed with and I needed to uninstall and re-install to get them back on again. It's most likely an up and up program if CNet is downloading it, but I'd caution to find out all you can before downloading.
