Problems

Pros: Tabs, improved security, and printing options are long overdue, but welcome. Zoom feature is nice, loading and browsing are very quick.

Cons: Clumsy interface, with navigation buttons and menus on opposite sides.

Worse, however, is after I installed it, Flash content stopped working. I reinstalled Flash, still nothing. I removed IE7 and reverted back to version 6, still no good. Did a system restore, still no remedy.

Looks like the only way to get my PC back to its former healthy state is to reformat and reload... and I think I have IE7 to thank for that.

i had similar problems with IE7 rc1

I understand fully your problems HuDu. IE7 RC1 messed up my computer beyond belief, system restore, unstalling or trying to as it wouldnt work, a completely useless microsoft team when i asked for help. Lets face it the only true real reason anyone needs Internet Explorer, is to get the updates for your Operating System as we all know how much microsoft needs them. In the end i had to fully reformat my pc, well laptop, only plus was i removed the partition-came like that, and on 80gb its not worth it. Personnally im a netscape 8.1 fan, but i do use opera and firefox as well, Microsoft will probably never catch up now.

The above takes you to the IE7 add-ons and amongst these is Adobe Flash layer which simply downloaded and installed to work with IE7..maybe I have this wrong but doesn't this answer the problem of not seeing Flash content.

Adobe Shockwave and Adobe Flash Player 9 still works in IE7!

Reviewer: ppgrainbow

After I installed IE7 earlier this week, Flash related content (Adobe Shockwave and Adobe Flash Player 9) still worked with no problems at all.

The problem is that either you might have used an outdated version of your Shockwave/Flash Player from Macromedia, installation of IE7 wasn't 100% sucessful or corrupt or there has been compatibility issues.

Reformatting your HD only resulted in loss of data and there would have been better ways to avoid that.

i had an unrelated problem to flash not working n i ended up havin to download an uninstaller from the flash site to uninstall flash properly to then reinstall the latest flash for it to work properly so maybe it wasn't ie7's fault ?

Reverting back to IE6 NO NEED TO REFORMAT!!

Reviewer: tallguy1967

I also installed IE7 there was some cool features but over all on the downside with unfixable Flash player problems and also experienced JAVA related issues.

I was able to uninstall IE7 and revert back to IE6. Here is what I did... After uninstalling IE7 I went to "add or remove programs", Click "Add or Remove Windows Components" Uncheck "Internet Explorer" then click "Next"... when the process finishes just RECHECK "Internet Explorer" and then click next, After the process finishes you should be back to IE6.

I hope this works for you as it did for me!

I downloaded IE7 and noticed after a couple of days how my computer had slowed right down and then stopped working all together. It just sat idle, I had to re-install windows and now I'm back to IE6 it works fine.

I also had the problem

I had the problem of the latest flash player suddenly not working in IE 6.

I kept reinstalling flash, but to no avail.

I then found an UNINSTALLER for the latest flash, and a flash 7 exe on the Adobe website.

Using the Flash 7 player took care of the problem, and continued to work even when I updated to IE7

However I still hate IE 6& 7 for it's overzealous security so I only use FIREFOX 2 exclusively
