This program helps you animate your virtual reality models, but don't expect it to be user-friendly. Internet Character Animator has a simple interface, but it's not really suitable for novice users in this field. Using its sample models, you can completely modify the animations by defining movements of the model's parts, cycle speed, and the number of animation frames. Use the vertical and horizontal dials to view the object in different perspectives. Since it supports only WRL files, you'll need to make sure you first create a model using virtual reality languages if you don't use the tutorial images that accompany the application. This 15-day trial application is appropriate for advanced digital artists, due to the cluttered and unfriendly interface. Further, the help file doesn't provide enough information for novice users. The program specifies Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator as compatible browsers for its output, and Windows 95/98/ NT/2000 for appropriate operating systems (however, we tested with Windows XP with no problems). Advanced digital animators may find this program useful but lacking the bells and whistles of professional software, while novice users will be baffled.
