Intaglio is a traditional Macintosh drawing and illustration application exclusively for Mac OS X. Patterned after the original Macintosh drawing applications, Intaglio is intuitive to beginners and familiar to traditional Macintosh users. It builds on the OS X capabilities involving 2D graphics, text, color, and scripting to provide power and flexibility in an inexpensive drawing program. Intaglio isn't just compatible with Mac OS X, it was designed from the ground up to fully exploit the capabilities that make this platform ideal for graphics work.

Version 2.9.5a runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs and adds several features and enhancements including new pattern tools, slideshows, improved bitmap support, and core image effects.

New and long-time Mac users will appreciate Intaglio's simple and adaptable design with easy-to-use toolbars and palettes. It's modeled after traditional drawing programs. As with more expensive graphics programs, drawing in Intaglio is a composite of one or more layers, allowing you to work separately on the various component parts of your image. A wealth of new features in recent versions add cool effects to your projects, slide show capabilities, and an easy-to-use pattern tool bar. Intaglio also takes advantage of the technologies built into Mac OS X, such as CoreImage Effects (Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger), AppleScript, Apple Type Services, Quartz rendering, QuickDraw, and QuickTime for importing and exporting bitmap images. Overall, we found Intaglio to be a powerful drawing application that consistently performs well and holds its own in a league of more expensive, powerhouse design programs.
