This free browser add-on lets you search for and download e-books from several Web sites, though e-mail alerts took some nudging. Instant E-Book Download Toolbar includes drop-down menus of links to download free e-books and others that even include resale rights.
Numerous links to search sites such as eBay, Shopping.com, and Babylon make locating what you want online fast and convenient. A variety of informational resources ranging from business, health, and culture to travel and Web services are a click away. You'll find welcome extras such as the pop-up blocker, weather forecast, and cache and search history cleaners. The e-mail notifier works with Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and POP3s.
Though it didn't initially tell us we had mail on the first few requests, it eventually came through with accurate results. The toolbar is customizable, so you can remove what you don't need and add other system components to launch some Microsoft Office applications, the Registry, and MSN Messenger. Although classified as an Internet Explorer add-on, Instant E-Book Download Toolbar can be added to your Firefox browser as well. Overall, moneywise consumers will appreciate this toolbar's e-books and informational resources.
