IndyaMail.com's 2Kul File-Splitter helps split large files into small pieces that can be later re-attached using our small software. The use of this software is to dynamically distribute large files into smaller parts so that they can be copied over to multiple floppy or other storage disks where file size is greater than storage source space.

User can custom break the file into xx parts and allocate each file's space. Easy template systems allow quick splitting of the files for floppy and other storage devices. Version 2007 includes unspecified updates.

This freeware is a simple and effective file splitter/joiner, but must be installed anywhere you send files. 2Kul File-Splitter's simple dialog-sized interface needs no Help file to understand. Options are clear and easily set.

Splitting or joining files is easily done with this utility. To split you merely need to choose from one of the predefined sizes or set a custom size for each segment. The four common predefined sizes will work for most user needs. Choosing the file to split is easily accomplished using the program's file tree browse option or you can simply manually enter the file path. Press Go and the file is quickly split. Segment names and extensions are automatically set by the program. An additional file is saved with instructions for 2Kul File-Splitter on what is needed to rejoin the file. Joining files is even easier. You merely click Join then search for the special join file named with the original file's name and an FSM extension.

Our only problem with this utility is if you send a split file, your recipient must have 2Kul File-Splitter to rejoin the file. Other than that, this freeware program is small, quick, effective, and useful.

  Pros: Does what it says it does, plenty of options, small file size.

  Cons: None that I've noticed.

  Works better than File Splitz

  Pros: Free

  Simple, no help files needed

  Works well with large files (File Splitz didn't recombine the original 5GB file)

  Cons: Took over an hour to split a 5GB file into 10 parts and the same time to recombine on a 3GHz Pentium IV using XP (I have no benchmark so may be ok).
