  Didn't run on Windows 8 ,although that was my fault for not looking.

  Cons

  Installs 'Conduit Search' .This changes your browser homepage to Conduit.I uninstalled it from add/remove programs ,then did a scan with 'malwarebytes' and it found 8 left over items. Don't bother !

  It gave an error message about not being compatible with the operating system when a run was attempted. Uninstall worked.

  Cons

  It should have wider compatibility or be removed from CNET's download list. After all Vista is now an "older" operating system. It repeatedly tries to load several spam tool bars during install, you really have to read carefully to avoid them. Basically this is a spam trojan.

  Tried to change my default search engine and install a browser toolbar. Didn't ask for permission to do either. After all that, it said my OS (Win 7) isn't supported. A decent installer would check that first.

  I used this on my home desk top computer and was really impressed with the results!

  I downloaded it but it wouldn't install and I had a really hard time finding any information on why it was not working on my Windows 7 Starter laptop. Finally I found one post saying it was not compatible with Windows 7 Starter! :(

  Summary

  I have not been able to find anything comparable to the index.dat for use on my Windows 7 Starter laptop. I wish I could find a program like this for my Starter.

  Installed smoothly in seconds, does all it's advertised to do., excellent and appropriate set of built in tools all the ones 'd want with no useless extras

  None, opens, functions, closes without buggy behavior, I can't think of any extra features it could use, they're all there

  Sweet little program, opened first use, and every time since to the index.dat file of the account I was logged onto. no need to point it to the filder or file, analyzer is good description gives a more detailed look into the files in the index.dat than the veiwer programs I've tried in the past. For every tool I discover that ends up becoming a keepe bet I try 40 even 50, that for a wide array of "too" reasons (too simple, too complex, too useless, too expensive, too many bugs, etc.,etc.), this one definately serves a useful purpose no other stand alone free one does and it's simple to figure out, shouldn't take the average user familiar with index.dat files more than 60 seconds. Now if Microsoft would just come clean, as far as I know they still have not, and tell us what the real purpose in this file is.
