With this browser plug-in you save a second or two, here and there, but at the price of a little personal information. Google Web Accelerator's interface is just a preferences pull-down with an optional toolbar information button. Installation and operation is quick and simple. After you set preferences, there's really nothing to do. The plug-in works behind the scenes.
Google Web Accelerator logs all Web requests and caches select data on your PC. All page requests go through dedicated Google machines. If you go to many popular Web sites, you're sure to save a little time with this tool. Its data compression will also save a bit of time. If Google's algorithms work correctly, it prefetches pages to your cache so that will save a few seconds. The time you save depends on the pages selected and your connection speed. Dial-up users should notice better savings. It takes just a click on the preferences pull-down to stop this plug-in, but you'll have to go through Remove Programs to uninstall it.
Google's privacy notice mentions situations where personal information is logged on the company servers, but the tool does not process requests for secure Web pages. While Google Web Accelerator isn't going to make a slow connection lighting fast, it is worth a look by users interested in saving a few seconds.

"How should i describe this..."
Pros: speeds up certain websites, works well with firefox and IE7, easy to use, and what else...
Cons: the accelerator takes up lots of memory sometimes (25k) and it slows the opening of IE7 home page and it cause some website videos not to load (especially youtube) it's not really needed if you're using opera

Pros: Google Web Accelerator actually does what it promises. Although I was skeptical about anything that loads at startup, it really does make my web sessions faster. I downloaded it at work (a virtual desktop) and found a marked improvement. On my home system it works well with Firefox + fasterfox. i would recommend this to anyone looking for faster websurfing.
Cons: Still apprehensive of anything that loads at startup (just me I guess!).

"Big time saver if you are a gamer"
Pros: fabulous.
Cons: The only bad thing is that you sometimes need to exit out of it and restart it up to have it active.
